Welcome to Official Website of Kashmir Gateways

Overview:
Tucked away in the high Himalayas, about 125 km from Srinagar, Gurez Valley is one of Kashmir’s most untouched and breathtaking destinations. Nestled at an altitude of around 8,000 feet, the valley is surrounded by snow-clad peaks, lush meadows, and the sparkling Kishanganga River (also known as Neelum River). Once an important stop on the ancient Silk Route connecting Kashmir to Gilgit, Gurez remains a hidden gem, peaceful, scenic, and rich in cultural heritage. Its remote beauty and warm hospitality make it a perfect destination for travelers seeking offbeat experiences and untouched nature.

  • Summer (May to September): The best time to visit. The weather is pleasant, and the valley is at its greenest.

  • Winter (October to March): Heavy snowfall covers the region; the valley remains inaccessible due to snow-covered roads but looks spectacular from nearby areas.
